Our Approach

Every child has a reason for what they do

Instead of asking how to stop a behavior, we start by asking what a child is communicating, needing, or experiencing. Understanding that allows us to teach the necessary skills to access their needs wherever they are and whoever they are with. Play based and naturalistic ABA allows for this automatically.

What are NDBIs?

Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions combine developmental science with behavioral principles. Learning is embedded in play, relationships, routines, interests, and everyday environments so skills are relevant and meaningful to the individual.

  • Learning through natural interactions and activities
  • Following the individual's interests and motivation
  • Developmentally appropriate goals and expectations
  • Skills practiced where they matter in daily life
  • Active collaboration with parents and caregivers

The Principles That Guide Our Care

Autonomy

We respect communication, preferences, choice, and each individual's right to participate meaningfully in their own care.

Assent-Based Practice

We attend to signs of willingness, discomfort, and refusal, and adapt support to promote safety, trust, and engagement.

Trauma-Informed Care

We prioritize predictability, emotional safety, respectful relationships, and awareness of how stress can affect learning and behavior.

Intrinsic Motivation

We build learning around meaningful interests, relationships, and activities rather than relying only on external rewards.

Parent Partnership

Caregivers are collaborators. We provide practical coaching and support that carries into everyday routines and family life.

Whole-Individual Support

We consider communication, relationships, sensory needs, environment, strengths, and quality of life—not isolated behaviors alone.

Therapy should feel meaningful

We do not view progress as a checklist of isolated skills. We work to create learning experiences that help individuals participate more fully in relationships, routines, communities, and the parts of life that matter to them.
